Good day my family and friends, I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray you are well and enjoying what God has for you. Thanks for joining me yet again for the 5th Edition of keys2unlock.
Well in waiting, I seemed to have gotten complacent or like my fellow Navy sailors know it by this term “skylarking”. That’s when you are sitting and waiting and you begin to lose focus on your purpose and you begin to think about something that has nothing to do with your purpose for waiting. Next thing you know you are somewhere you don’t want to be because you lost focus. Have you ever been waiting so long you forgot why you were there? How about you didn’t even see the line moving until someone nudged you or got your attention somehow and then you moved forward. Oh and my least favorite one is when you are moving and you don’t even realize or aren’t paying attention and you can’t remember how you got to the front of the line. I know seems crazy and unlikely but it can and has happened to each of us in some way shape or form. Did you know that God is still working even in our complacency? God doesn’t skylark or get distracted. He is still working that’s why the line is still moving. God said He would get you from here to there and that’s just what He will do.
So while in church service last week after going to the altar to receive prayer, I returned to my seat behind the camera and as I sat down apparently the Lord wasn’t done speaking to me. I shared this note that I believe is important for others as well so I am sharing with you! These were His words: “Waiting for a change to happen? Sometimes a shift happens and you are unaware that the shift is coming. The wave comes and suddenly you are in a new place. You have just been forced into a new place. Some are sitting and waiting to see a change before they change. But I have already moved you into a new place and now you are stumped as to what is going on and how you got here. You don’t even recognize that you have moved. Pay Attention to Me!!! Well let me tell you this, you are in a new place and you can’t do what you were doing in the old place in your new place. You need to adapt, a new attitude, a new perspective its your responsibility to adapt! If you run from it like you have before and not deal with it properly, it will follow you and catch up to you!”
As I wrote in the beginning, while waiting on the Lord I began to lose somethings that I am not supposed to lose track of, like my focus, faith and strength these are just a few. This is not in line with what the Word says. Isaiah 40:31 is a very familiar and popular scripture it reads: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.“ So I took a moment to break it down and here is what I learned. Wait has several lines when I looked up the definition but this one stood out to me. Wait means to remain in readiness for some purpose. Well let me tell you remaining in readiness went out the window as soon as I began to skylark, and everything else followed. While waiting you must “stay vigilant” (another Navy saying) While you are waiting the enemy is walking the block watching to see who looks weak and weary so he can steal your focus, kill your faith and destroy your strength. Renew your strength is the order for us to remaining vigilant while waiting. You must remain encouraged, Isaiah 41:10 “Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Exodus 15:2 “The Lord is my strength and song”. In all that we do we must remain focused on God especially while waiting.
So I didn’t even notice that while God was cutting off some things that I no longer needed and here I am trying to pick up those pieces and hold onto them as if I still need them. The cutting and pruning is making way for growth in God. Much like in the life of the eagle. The eagle goes through a process known as molting. Molting is when the old feathers begin to fall off to make room for the new feathers. Here I am ot making the connection because I’m skylarking and distracted by so many things that I can’t even focus on where God has moved me to. I notice the old feathers fall to the ground but instead of embracing the new growth I’m crying about the old feathers.
Would this happen to be you on today? Take a moment breathe now snap out of your skylarking trance and find your focus. Go back to Jesus, He is waiting for you, He has already moved on your behalf and made the crooked ways straight. He has heard your cry and made a way for you. He has cleared the path to your victory. He is not working in the background! Just because you can’t see Him moving or working at this moment, doesn’t mean He isn’t working. Stop inviting the enemy back to the place that God has already cleared for you. Stop focusing on the work of the enemy he is exploiting what you present as weakness. No more old feathers, the new feathers are growing to take you to new heights.
It is my prayer that this blog is a blessing to you and helps others realize that they are not the only one in a situation. Sharing testimony is important for others. I pray you are filled with God’s Love, Joy, Peace, Anointing and Holy Spirit. Share what He has for you to share I love you and be blessed. Kevin Sanders
