You Can Learn a Lot From…

Good day to you friends and family, Happy New Year and welcome to the first edition of Keys 2 Unlock 2020. I am excited to begin yet again on this journey of what the Lord gives me to share. I pray you shall receive of the Lord and are continually blessed by what is read and shared through keys2unlock.com

Sometime about 1985 the US Department of Transportation began releasing Public Service Announcements via television commercials informing everyone to buckle their safety belts. They did it in a unique way by using what they called Crash Test Dummies. The Crash Test Dummies (CTD) they walked and talked and basically showed what could happen to a human body in the event of an auto accident if said human did not wear their safety belt. It was a great tool to educate everyone how important it is to wear your safety belts. A very interesting way to get the point across to a lot of people. Dummy, by definition means: something designed to resemble and serve as a substitute for the real or usual thing. Another definition is a counterfeit or sham, which to me means it is meant to take the place of and deceive.

So being in the Navy I learned from those appointed above me. They weren’t all good examples. Yes, I learned from those bad leaders too, I learned how NOT to be from them. They taught me to be a better leader by how horrible of a leader they were. I say that to say this you have to pay attention and know or recognize the right way or you won’t recognize the wrong way when you see it. Ever heard of the saying if it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck well it’s a duck? That simply isn’t enough in a lot of cases, mainly your spirituality, salvation and your life. Looking and sounding like a duck is not enough please investigate further. A huge problem is some of us are so broken in the spirit we can’t pay attention. You have been deceived, distracted and are wasting your energy chasing the wrong thing. Side chatter begins– Well much like the Crash Test Dummies of the 80’s a change needed to happen to save lives. New ways needed to be adopted and the old ways had to go. But of course, it was a choice and frankly it still is a choice. Although the purpose of the CTD was to educate and statistically it did that. Belief is the starting block and application is the hurdle. –End side chatter Ok I’m back!

Can anyone relate to being so broken you are stuck and distracted that you don’t even know you have become numb to the things around you? I call it being stuck in the recognition phase or skylarking (a Navy reference). Some of us don’t even know enough to recognize a counterfeit or replica, so you either take it as the real thing or you become so mesmerized at how real it looks well let’s say you look past it. What do I mean? Ok have you ever stared at something so long you begin to day dream (skylark) and when you snap out of it you realize you are looking past the object you were staring at? If you don’t know what right looks like you have no way to recognize it, I said that before! I encourage you to educate yourself, read the Word of or Lord, if you so choose to, I believe it will help you to not be deceived. We take precautions everyday to protect ourselves from something. We don’t put a towel down on a hot stove, we secure our belongings the best way we know how to prevent them from being stolen, and many other things we do. Some of us while doing all those things we pray and ask our Lord, our God to protect us. This is no different!

Check out these scriptures:

2 Corinthians 11:13-15

Colossians 3:5-17

Matthew 24

1 Peter 5:8-9

Revelation 12:9-10

I pray you received something from this and I pray the blessings of the Lord over you and your family, that you are filled with His love, peace, favor anointing and Holy Spirit! Thanks again for your support and taking the time to read! Good day family and friends!
