Shhh, Don’t Drop Your Guard! Part 1

Good day to you and welcome to keys2unlock, also a huge thank you to all of you who are patient and continue to stop by and read. It is my prayer that you are all doing well and staying safe out there. Let us jump right in and see what the Lord has in this edition of keys2unlock.

I have experienced this on occasions and I am quite sure some of you have as well. I will start by defining a term that we are all familiar with and that is nagging. Nagging is used to disarm, or break down one’s guard. To get a person to comply with your wishes, or to do what you asked or demanded of them this is done through persistence. Interesting right? Well persistence is the continued or prolonged existence of something, a steady continuance in a specific course of action not taking into account the level difficulty involved or the opposition. That is a mouthful and may say a lot to your own personality or way of doing things. Environmental persistence refers to how long a contaminate remains in the environment, some contaminates are considered agents that can be used as weapons so their use is targeted and more specific. So basically, something can have a specific purpose but over time can be used in a way that can prove harmful to others and once that is realized can be weaponized to target the “others” more specifically. Not to be controversial in anyway but just to get you to think but weaponizing something can simply mean knowing about something and choosing not to educate others on how it can affect those who initially were not the intended targets. Ok take that and save it for a later day to ponder on. BONUS ANALOGY: Did you know that the enamel is the hard protector of your teeth and protects your teeth from the everyday impact of chewing, crunching and grinding? This andsome other foods and drinks (acidic liquids and sugars) can also slowly break down the enamel and essentially expose your teeth to painful temperatures and chemicals.

Now in the book of Judges chapter 13 you will find a man named Manoah and his wife who was barren and had no children. So, the Angel of the Lord appeared to her and told her that she will conceive and bear a son, also that she should be careful what she drinks and not to eat anything unclean. Then, that no razor should come upon his head because he shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb and shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. She bore a son and called him Samson and as he grew the Spirit of the Lord moved upon him. Samson as we know had great physical strength and the long hair was a sign of the covenant he had with the Lord. With that being said his obedience to God was the source of his strength. Now a lot happened between his birth and Delilah but right now we shall fast forward her. Why? Because I want to encourage you to stand in obedience to God. Don’t let the nagging persistence of the enemy cause you to give in and expose your vulnerabilities. Don’t walk from under your covering. Delilah was hired to get the secret of his strength from Samson. So that they would know how to attack see they needed an assurance that they would be able to win they needed an advantage. Delilah was their way in and she delivered. She was successful because she was persistent. She kept on asking, talking, persuading and manipulating until Samson just gave in and released the secret. It was almost like a constant interrogation without physical harm involved. At some point Samson entertained it and maybe thought he was having fun but he was really giving Delilah more ammunition to use against him. Because Samson could have stopped going to see Delilah but he kept putting himself in that environment for the sake of what? ALERT!! This is a transparent moment: I continued to place myself in situations or environments that I knew would compromise me but I did it telling myself that I could handle it and be fine. But didn’t really realize the constant impact/exposure was breaking down the enamel and eventually I was fully exposed and in way over my head. Not a good place to be and at this point you are backed into a corner of such and will give almost anything to get out of that corner including secrets. Had I just stood my ground and listened to the warnings. Samson gave false answers while still exposing himself to the same environment. Now I don’t know why he did this and the Bible doesn’t say this but one could speculate that he kept exposing himself to the environment because he was getting what he wanted in the flesh. So, he gave Delilah something so that she would think that she got the answer and he would be able to come back and possibly get what he wanted again. Oh maybe I’m still in my transparent moment. Ok End transparent moment! Be focused on what God has for you to do and to be. Don’t give in to the persistence that is designed to break down and expose your weakness. That weakness can help gain access to you in a way that can keep you from being who God has called for you to be. I hope this is helping you, like it is helping me.
