Good day to you and welcome back to keys2unlock. There has been a lot going on but at the same time that is not the reason for the long break. But at any rate please enjoy this read I pray you be encouraged by it and maybe just maybe it unlocks something in you for God’s purpose! Let’s jump in!!!
So, just the other day I was thinking about when I go and open my front door. I normally unlock the deadbolt first then the bottom doorknob lock or privacy lock (whatever it is really called). For a lack of a better term before I googled it, I will call it the bottom lock cause that’s what I have always called it. Now that that is established, I was minding my business or so I thought, as I was scrolling the notes on my phone and came across something that I wrote “Submit to God and Resistance are keys to unlock flight mode in the enemy.” My phone is filled with notes that I wrote down that I know I am supposed to research and/or pray and ask the Lord what this means or how to use it. That was my reminder so, I began digging into that and I figured out that this was the next blog post. Now here we are from a thought or vision of me unlocking the door. Ok jumping in for real this time!!!
What does submit or submission mean? Well in the Greek it was a military term that means “to arrange under”. When troops did this they would gather in formation under the leadership of the commander. The way my brain works is I relate this to my military days as the command “fall in”. When this was given, we would get into formation at attention ready to hear instructions from our leader. Sometimes the command “Attention” was given, and this had the same effect. So, submitting to me would mean giving my attention to the higher authority. (Humility) To pay attention and follow what is being said by the higher authority. (Obedience) James 4:7 reads “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Submitting to God is lining up under His sovereign rule, under His divine authority. You must be willing to submit yourselves under God’s authority, otherwise who’s authority are you submitting yourself under?
Let’s talk about the second part of this verse which is resisting the devil. To resist the enemy, you must be able to recognize the enemy. You can’t fight or resist something you haven’t identified. You can lock your door to keep stuff out but in some cases what you are trying to keep out you may have already let it in because you haven’t identified them first. If you aren’t remaining under the shadow of the Almighty, you may not be able to identify the enemy, let alone know that you have one. Ephesians 6:10-12 talks about putting on the Whole Armor of God and describes who and what we are up against. Knowing how to equip yourself means you recognize what and who you are up against. Resistance can look like you putting on the Whole Armor of God, it can be in your speech, your commands but especially in your faith. Important for us to remain faithful and vigilant in our studies, our walk and focusing on what it means to be under the authority of God. We must move the hinderances out of the way when we are submitting to God, it’s a constant thing that we do. Rebuking the enemy is an act declaring our authority over the power of the enemy. Luke 10;19 reads, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
All this from how I unlock my door. Well yes, because there can’t be a second without the first. Going back to James 4:7 resistance isn’t enough we have to submit to God. Chances are for some of us the enemy is the authority that we are submitting to in the moment or something else that isn’t God. We can’t have two master’s we can’t serve God and the devil at the same time. So, to make sure that the enemy flees you must submit to God then resist the devil and because it is God’s Word the enemy must flee. God is all powerful and as you fall under Him the enemy has no foothold over you. I encourage you to Submit to God by unlocking the deadbolt then resist the devil by unlocking the bottom lock and open the door because you have just unlocked flight mode in the enemy, and he is fleeing.
Well, I pray that this short message encouraged and blessed you. Thank you for taking the time to read it. Love and Blessings
Submitting to God and Resistance are the keys to unlock flight mode in the enemy.
